4x4 Professional

Our RoSPA Off Road 4×4 driving professional users course is designed for all drivers who need to use their vehicles in off road situations at work.

Off-Road Driving – H&S and risk management training

4×4 vehicles come under PUWER, requiring drivers to have undergone adequate training. For the purpose of off-road driving, the RoSPA 4×4 training goes above and beyond this requirement and is designed to prepare drivers for using their vehicles in a wide variety of terrain. If drivers are required to drive on-road, we recommend our 4×4 familiarisation course followed by the one day off-road training to more properly prepare drivers for their tasks, and in the use of the equipment for health and safety purposes.

Cost: From £270-£1000/candidate, depending on number of candidates and venue.

Duration: 2 days

Venue: One of our RoSPA approved 4×4 sites:

  • Cumbria (10 minutes from the M6)
  • Borders Scotland (accessible from the central belt and north east England)
  • Wales (40 minutes from Cardiff)
  • Devon (45 minutes from M5, Exeter and Launceston)
  • Gloucestershire (35 minutes from Gloucester and Swindon)
  • Suffolk (ideal for Cambridge, Norwich and Peterborough)
  • Yorkshire (close to York and Leeds)
We also have several other venues available across the whole of the UK, and may be able to run the training from your venue - please get in touch.

Certification: RoSPA certification as a professional 4×4 off road driver.

This course is designed for all drivers who are expected to use their 4×4 vehicle off road, and is ideal for any delegate who has not previously had professional training in 4×4 use and risk assessment.

All training is restricted to a training ratio of 1 trainer to no more than 3 trainees. We can train up to 12 drivers/day depending upon instructor availability.

The RoSPA 4x4 course covers:
